Day 2-3 Arusha to Tarangire National Park: Tarangire retains an air of undiscovered Africa, as it is less visited than other northern Tanzanian parks. It is a haven for birds. 550 bird species, the world’s largest selection found in one habitat, find their home in Tarangire. The stocking-thither ostrich, the world’s largest bird, might greet you in its party dress of plumes!
After dinner, you can go for a night game drive to spot nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, dik diks, genets, civet, serval cats, bush babies and various night birds. Dinner and overnight at the Campsite/ Lodge
Day 4 Tarangire to Serengeti National Park: The lush plains of the Serengeti have made it an ideal home to wildlife for millions of years. This ancient ecosystem continues to thrive, and wildebeests, zebras, gazelles and giraffes are often seen grazing in herds. This is one of the best places in the world to spot lions dozing in a shade, leaping after a marked prey or gnawing off a share of their hunt. Depart Tarangire National Park and drive to Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Overnight at Public campsite/Lodge
Day 5-7 Central to Northern Serengeti: Early morning breakfast then depart for full day game drives at the northern Serengeti place known Mara River at Tanzania area.
This is the long dry season and the wildebeest migration is moving north with the thundershowers. July- September is the months when wildebeest herds cross the crocodile-infested Mara River in North Serengeti. And this provides for some amazing wildlife viewing.
Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest can congregate at crossing points: all crossing in a single continuous wave of beasts. And all this while tooth and claw are waiting around the sides to pick off the weak and the careless. Early morning and afternoon gage drives
Many visitors only want to see the river crossings but the true spectacle of the migration is more than 1,400,000 wildebeests, 250,000 Burchell’s zebras, 19,000 elands and 590,000 Thomson’s Gazelles filling the entire stretch of landscape. The shifting columns of the herds as they traverse the valleys and the hills can only be watched in awe. There is nothing else like this on earth. We overnight at Public campsite/ MaraSerengeti Heritage Mobile Camp/Mara Under canvas/Lobo Wildlife Lodge
Day 8 Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority: Leave very early in the morning and drive to central Serengeti for game viewing before heading Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight. The world-famous Ngorongoro Crater is at the eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera of the once-volcanic Ngorongoro shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth, ringed with towering walls and sheltering forests, grasslands, fresh springs and a large soda lake- we stay at the Camp/Lodge
Day 9 Ngorongoro to Arusha: Descend into the Ngorongoro caldera very early in the morning to view the wildlife on the crater floor-The Ngorongoro Crater is often called “Africa’s Eden” and the “8th Natural Wonder of the World”.A massive extinct volcano, the sheet walls drop thousands of feet to a “Noah’s Ark” of animals on the verdant floor below. Large herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Leave the crater afternoon and drive back to Arusha for relaxation and overnight.
