Itinerary
The Lodge on the Rocks – Big Cave Camp! As the name suggests, Big Cave Camp rests atop an enormous granite whaleback, offering breathtaking views across the famous Matobo National Park. the park is a protected home for the endangered black and white rhinos. Track these wonderful animals on foot with an experienced guide. Join a not-to-be-missed sundowner drive. Relax at the end of the day in the natural rock-pool. We can also recommend a visit of the famous rock art galleries at Matobo Hills, which gained World Heritage status because of its rich cultural diversity.
You explore this remote wilderness on exciting game drives day and night and on walks with highly experienced guides. Hwange has a tremendous density of wildlife: over 20.000 elephants, 17.000 buffalos, 5.000 antelopes and 3.000 giraffes were counted here. To make the most of your Hwange experience, you will stay in two different camps. At Bomani Tented Camp, you have fantastic game viewing from the comfort of your private verandah, or you can visit a nearby village.
