Itinerary
You explore this remote wilderness on exciting game drives and on walks with highly experienced guides. Hwange has a tremendous density of wildlife: over 20.000 elephants, 17.000 buffalos, 5.000 antelopes and 3.000 giraffes were counted here. All thatched chalets at Camp Hwange are overlooking a permanent waterhole, so you can enjoy the animal kingdom in complete privacy from your luxurious bedded camp. By night, you have the option to seek out those nocturnal animals during a night drive.
Explore the South Western Townships – short Soweto – on a guided tour. See the homes of Nobel peace prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, the ex wife of Nelson Mandela or taste a local beer in one of the popular shebeen (pub). A visit of the Apartheid Museum is very moving, but also very educational as it illustrates the events and human stories that are part of South Africa’s history known as apartheid.
Romantic barefoot-luxury will await you on the tiny private Medjumbe Island in the Quirimas Archipelago. Feel the powder fine sand trickle through your toes as you stroll along the tranquil beach lapped by the turquoise Indian Ocean. Indulge in the quiet rhythm of island life. If you want to escape like Robinson Crusoe, visit the idyllic island of Quissanga with a culinary picnic. Quirimbas Archipelago is a secret spot for diving enthusiasts. It has an absolute stunning and captivating underwater world. The water is warm all year round with excellent visibility.
