Itinerary
Meet at your lodge and transfer to your lodge for a pre-safari briefing.
OLERAI LODGE (Dinner)
Our safari begins by passing through the town center of Arusha and witnessing the sights and sounds of a colorful and bustling African city. We depart the city from the southwest toward the Great Rift Valley and the stunning national park of Tarangire. We enter the park for an afternoon game drive and then onto our treetop room for overnight.
TARANGIRE ELEPHANT ROCK (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast, we set off toward the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara at the base of an escarpment. We enter the park for an afternoon game drive and then onto our room overlooking the Rift Valley wall for overnight.
MANDHARI LODGE (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
We enter the true tribal areas of Tanzania after leaving the tourist trail after breakfast and heading towards Lake Eyasi. Upon arrival, we can interact with the Hadzabe/Datoga tribes by taking an afternoon wilderness walk of the area.
ZIWANI LODGE (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
A very early morning of traditional hunting ensures we are learning the ancient customs of the hunter-gatherer firsthand. We join in the singing & dancing and afterward visit the Datoga, traditional blacksmiths of the area. Return to the lodge for brunch and an afternoon of relaxation.
KUDU LODGE KARATU (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Early transfer to Ngorongoro. Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcano – an incredible natural amphitheater, 25 km across and teeming with all the African big game. Descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the world's eighth wonder. With several different habitats, Ngorongoro Crater can offer extensive viewing within this 22-square-kilometer fishbowl. We enjoy a picnic lunch in the Crater before returning to the Maasai-run lodge on the crater rim forest for refreshment and overnight.
LAKE MASE LUXURY LODGE (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
The transfer to the Serengeti is via a sea of red-clothed warriors. We lunch en route and arrive at our camp late afternoon.
CANOPY CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Our special camp is within prime viewing areas and is located in the unspoiled areas of the Serengeti. We spend the day in search of spectacular wildlife by combining the surrounding areas, while only returning to the camp for lunch and resting before afternoon game driving.
CANOPY CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
We continue to explore the central areas of the Serengeti. We can explore game-filled plains and try to spot the Big Cats lazing among the kopjes.
CANOPY CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
An extension on areas already discovered allows today to be in pursuit of even more prime wildlife. It is a convenient access point for an optional Serengeti Balloon Safari or simply enjoy a private dinner under the stars of the Serengeti.
CANOPY CAMP (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Early morning game drive to our nearest airstrip for a charter flight to Arusha. Transfer into the heart of Arusha for lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge and Shanga Shangaa Workshop exploration and safari de-briefing.
ARUSHA MOUNT MERU HOTEL (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
We make a timely transfer to the Arusha departure point for travel beyond.
